What an amazing start of my UK trip, I got invited to speak for the students at the Backstage Academy, the secrete weapon of numerous huge celebrities/big productions. I got to see the first prototype of the set design from Tomorrow Land, and that’s just one of the millions big projects they do. After I learnt about who I will be talking to, I realized that the big productions that I did in the past aren’t going to impress them as much, since they work with corporations a big as Coca Cola. So I decided to turn the lecture’s focus on spirituality and experimental new media art 😉 and of course, talk about Isadora and community engagement.
Big thank you to the world’s renowned Isadora expert Graham Thorne aka VJ Skulpture for the invite and organizing my visit, my mind is completely blown away by what they’re up to. Too many amazing secrets in one day (+most of the production they do there are confidential until it’s out in public). Also, this reminds me to send my love and respect to Mark Coniglio and the Isadora community, it really feels like an extended family visit. I strive to support this kinds of community to hold space for creative spirits in the media arts with true integrity and good heart, especially in the face of big corporate money and toxic competitions—these seemingly insubstantial things becomes even more invaluable.
Thank you Sounds Like This Festival for bringing me to the UK, I got a chance to cross promote our show.
